Spring Spruce-Up

Spring is springing. What is it about spring that makes us think about cleaning up, sprucing up or even redecorating?  The air is fresher, daylight lasts longer and there’s a new spark of energy around us. We might as well put that to good use, right? Let’s talk about the ways you can add to the comfort of your space.

For obvious reasons, let’s talk about your home flooring first.

Sprucing up home flooring

What current condition are your floors in? Was there any damage done from tracking in water, snow, and salt during the winter months? On a solid surface floor such as hardwood flooring or laminate flooring, this can be addressed by using a product specifically made to “refresh” your floors. This floor rejuvenator removes the dulling haze that can form on home flooring and also helps to disguise any scratches that may have happened as a result of the winter wear and tear.

Window coverings can have as much of a dramatic impact as you want in your space. You can keep it subtle so that it blends, or you can make a statement with your beautiful windows. You will want to think of the amount of natural light you get, as well as how much privacy you require. Side panels are easily changed to suit the season and coordinate with any blinds you may have.

Painting

Repainting your home’s interior or a particular room is a simple way to give your space a new feel. With virtually thousands of colour choices available with paint, the options are endless. There are far fewer colour choices when it comes to flooring and floor accessories. A fresh coat of paint is a great to way to coordinate all of your pieces while removing all of the fingertips and smudges that may have gone unnoticed up until now.
